Nancy (Nanci) Flores, BSW, BSN, RN
President and Co-Founder
Nancy is an experienced citizenship programming director for more than 18 years, having founded and directed successful citizenship class programs in her community, resulting in a 100% passing rate of the USCIS Naturalization interview and exam for over 1200 US citizens in the region, from over 87 countries, in the local nonprofit setting in the South Bend, Indiana area. Additionally, Nancy founded and directed a successful immigration legal clinic in a local nonprofit setting in the South Bend area for more than 9 years resulting in affordable immigration legal services, making it possible for hundreds of area individuals and families to successfully obtain immigration legal benefits with USCIS. She now brings her experience in citizenship programming and processes as the co-founder of One More Citizen, Inc. to further citizenship education and successful naturalization in extended locations throughout the region, offering more of our immigrant neighbors greater access to these vital services.
Paul Hernandez
English Citizenship Class Instructor and Co-Founder
Paul is an Indiana Accredited teacher and has been a citizenship instructor and tutor for the past eight years. Paul previously taught high school English for 38 years. He served as Dept. chairperson for 28 years, was his school’s Corporation Teacher of the Year, and the State of Indiana Academic Coach of the Year in 2011. He served as advisor on his school’s Spell Bowl team, yearbook, newspaper, and literary magazine. His Spell Bowl teams won 18 State championships, and his literary magazine ranked “Highest Award” 8 times as best in state. Since retiring from teaching high school English, Paul has faithfully dedicated over 8 years of service to his students seeking naturalization, ensuring every citizenship student he instructs, and every volunteer he works alongside, are welcomed and experience the caring, expert support needed for success in the naturalization interview and exam. To date, Paul has successfully instructed hundreds of legal permanent resident immigrant community members to successful completion of naturalization in the U.S. - 100% of Paul’s students who have applied for naturalization have become US citizens! Paul is beloved by his citizenship students and volunteers alike. His welcoming, caring nature and excellence in instruction bring everyone into community in the classroom and help create a wider, more welcoming community overall.
